I am not a step-parent, however, I think adding another category for step-parenting would be great! It’s not because it’s not ‘real’ parenting but I think it’s just a different kind–almost with a separate set of rules. A few of my friends on Y!A are step-parents and I think the support they could get would be fantastic!
What do you think? As a step-parent [or not], would you use this catagory more often?
I just think it would be more organized and easier for other users to use! I mean if someone is specifically looking to help step-parents they have to weed through all of the other parents questions in order to find them. They have an “Adoption” category and while they could post in “Newborn and Baby” they needed their own category–because it’s different just like step-parenting is to ‘regular’ parenting.

I think they should have one called "step parenting and blended families." I’m not a step parent, but i see tons of questions on here on the subject. I agree, it is a different kind of parenting. I read some of them and go "I have no idea what i would do."
If they have a whole category on baby naming, they should have one for step parents. Good luck!
No, I think if the person specifies "step parenting" in their question, people will answer accordingly.
I think as big of subject as step parenting is with as many issues it wouldn’t be a bad idea for Yahoo to have a section just for that and for blended famlies
