Yes I did and it opened my eyes to how children think, how to keep them safe, etc. It was a great class and I recommend it to any paretn. When we become adults we tend to forget about how we behaved as children and why. These classes help us to remember that children are still young and learning
Instead of lamaze when I was pregnant with my first child I took a prepared childbirth class. It contain elements of lamaze but also taught me how to give infant CPR as well as how to deal with an infant who is choking. I think they offer other parenting classes that are for parents of older children, I will say that the one I took was extremely helpful because you learned to deal with situations before they came up and you were left dumbfounded. I would contact the hospital if I were you because they usually have information on these types of things, in fact that is where my class was held.
Parenting classes do help when you have a problem with your child, but the best thing is to try to solve you childs problem yourself, the classes is not always going to help. but sometimes it is very helpful.
